6th Grade English

In the beginning of class Mr. Watson is handing out tests, and he is starting to talk about it. He told us to look at our tests to make sure he didn’t mark anything wrong accidentally. He said to us to save our quizzes because it might be on our mid-term. He will at the end of the quarter delete our worst vocab test grade.

He emailed us a document called “Job Examples.” Every time you read outside of class you write a journal response. He also assigns a job to you, the six jobs are; “Discussion Director,” (You write 2 fat questions and 2 skinny questions. [Fat questions you have to answer with deep thinking] [skinny questions can be answered by the words in the book.]) “Word Wizard,” (you write 3 words that you have not known) “Summarizer,” (you tell a brief summary of a book) “Connector,” (you write something that relates to the story that happened to you in real life) and “Passage Master” (you find one sentence in the story that didn’t make sense, or you just think is unusual). Also, there is illustrator (you draw a scene and a sentence.) Also, due Tuesday, we need to read in the “Blood Red Sun” chapters 1-3 and write a journal response and do our job. Near the end of a class we read our Journal responses and talked about how to get full credit.
